The Betrayed

Trapped in the dark,
Never left to roam free.
Chained to the ground,
He doesn’t have the key.
A mind of his own,
Something he’s never had.
Someone makes his choice,
It only makes him mad.
His young will is strong,
But he can’t take his own submission.
The time he spends is bleak,
He hates the life he’s given.

The face of a thousand,
The hate of ten more.
Taught to follow and obey,
Taught only to keep score.
He struggles within himself,
He wants them all to pay.
Never knowing how he will do it,
Only knowing he will one day.

He, a hard young man,
Molded by the forsaken.
Waiting silently for his time,
To repay the chances taken.
Biding time as he was taught,
By those he means to destroy.
The fools task of caging him,
Bringing destruction without joy.
The teachers will be taught,
A vow known only to him.
One only has the time to wait,
Wait for the light to grow dim.

The face of a thousand,
The hate of ten more.
Taught to follow and obey,
Taught only to keep score.
He struggles within himself,
He wants them all to pay.
Never knowing how he will do it,
Only knowing he will one day.

The old man prepares himself,
To finally unleash his hate.
The years of obeying have to end,
He can’t afford to wait.
Penance for the time he spent,
And for his life of waste.
Level the score as we was taught,
A bitterness he can taste.
It’s a fight he can never win,
But a fight that will never go on.
He reaches out with all his hate,
In a blaze the betrayers are gone.

The face of  none,
The hate of no more.
Taught to follow and obey,
Finally balancing the score.
He struggles within himself,
He has made them all pay.
He knows now that he has done it,
Happy to see his one day.
