Someone Else’s Eyes

I see them look at me,
I’m afraid of what they see.
Someone just like them,
Someone they don’t know.
How can I get it across,
How can I let it show?

Someone like the rest,
Still wishing to be best.
I don’t think I can stand,
To watch myself anymore.
I hope they’re eyes go,
Wander to the shore.

I’m not who they see,
I’m not what they want me to be.
I see a sinking soul,
Looking out through my eyes.
When I look through their eyes,
I see someone who never cries.

Someone else’s eyes,
Someone who really tries.
