My Tears
I cannot sleep,
And I cannot think.
All night I cry,
Until I’m on the brink.
It hurts me so,
As it has for so long.
It takes my life,
And then everything goes wrong.
My tear blurred eyes,
Oh how they burn.
All night in the dark,
For freedom do I yearn.
I cry until,
I can cry no more.
My tears fall,
Like waves on the shore.
I cannot sleep,
I cannot think,
I cannot love,
I can only cry.
Tears of hurt,
And tears of pain.
Fall down my cheeks,
It’s life’s cruel game.
I hurt so bad,
I hurt so deep.
I hurt with fire,
From life I want to leap.
But I go on,
Sleepless through the night.
Thinking of you,
It’s an endless fight.
