Everlasting Love
I know that you’re still here,
Somehwere inside my heart.
I miss you more than you know,
Feelings sometimes take me with a start.
You’re gone from me,
And from the world for that case.
But I’ll never forget what you said,
With that voice full of fire and lace.
You told me to never give up,
To go on no matter what it took.
And I wanted to die when you went,
My very foundations shook.
But I can remember that look,
And those words spoken so sweet.
And for once I fought back up,
Even though the world held no heat.
I still think of you sometimes,
And wish that nothing could ever turn.
But then I realize I wouldn’t be me,
And in my heart you wouldn’t burn.
